Stages of Training

It’s important to recognize an trainee’s personal and professional development needs throughout the program. Some of the concerns and challenges an trainee faces seem to occur in a predictable order. Each stage has its own obstacles and opportunities. The rate of progress through the stages is affected by many factors, including the number of hours spent at the agency, previous training or field experiences, personality, levels of support from their supervisor and mentor, the style of supervision, and the nature of the work.


Anticipation


• Beginning of an training can stir many emotions

Disillusionment

The mentor and HR/training coordinator shall prepare a final evaluation report of the trainee. This shall be discussed with the trainee during their final presentation.

• HR ensures compliance, manages onboarding/offboarding, benefits, and legal documentation, and promotes diversity and inclusion within the program.

Ethical Guidelines: During their training, trainees should adhere to high ethical standards by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information, respecting intellectual property rights, conducting themselves professionally and honestly in all interactions, and actively engaging in learning experiences with integrity. They should embrace diversity and inclusion, report any discrimination or harassment, and prioritize the safety and well-being of themselves and others. Interns should be transparent in their actions, communicate effectively, and seek feedback for personal growth while complying with all applicable laws and regulations governing their training. Trainees are not allowed to represent the Centre for Management Development to any other person/institution they have been explicitly permitted to do so by appropriate authority.
